The WCTV19 News class is made up of 32 students.

They create feature stories that air in the program's daily show, Unleashed.

The reporter and photographer teams cover stories at Whitney High School, and in the community. They also spotlight events at other high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools.

Over the years, students in the News course have earned numerous awards in Student Television Network's contests including: Fall Nationals; STN Challenge; and at the STN National Convention. Students have also been awarded with several NATAS regional Emmy awards, and Northern California Media Educators honors. They were also a key component that helped the program win US Education TV's 'Best Overall Network.'
